Workshops

Two Day or Five Day format may be directed towards: beginners, intermediate and advanced students in dance.
Topics include:


-CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP:

This workshop aims to stimulate students to create their own passionate and original dances, exploring the elements of choreography composition. We look not only at what you dance, but also ask the question “Why you dance?” Dance is the expressive medium of our heart, mind and soul.

-MODERN DANCE WORKSHOP:

Students experience Modern Dance and study Anabella Lenzu / DanceDrama repertory.
This workshop explores the principle: Motion Creates Emotion /Emotion Creates Motion, and emphasizes the use of imagination, interpretation and body coordination and control.
Emphasis will also be given to alignment and muscular awareness as well as injury prevention.

-BALLET WORKSHOP:
Develop alignment technique and an understanding of dynamic. Increase flexibility and strength as well as to develop muscular awareness in order to prevent injuries. Use phrases of repertory (depending upon class level –beginning-intermediate-advanced) to help the students solve technical problems and understand roles/characters. A great deal of focus will be given to consciously work on their Ballet technique to overcome physical difficulties, such as incorrect posture or inflexibility.

-TANGO WORKSHOP:

Acquire both a repertoire or tango vocabulary of movement and the leading and following techniques in a close embrace. No previous Tango experience or partner required. Topics include: correct posture, technical control, rhythms and styles.

-ITALIAN FOLK DANCE WORKSHOP:

Students learn the Southern Italian ritual dances, as well as the history and social anthropology behind each one. Dances: Tammurriata (Campania), Pizzica (Salento), Saltarello (Lazio),Tarantella Calabresa (Calabria)
